Ruggedized AC filter capacitors certified to the highest safety levels
TDK's B32354S* series of AC filter capacitors adds to its portfolio of EPCOS metalized polypropylene film (MKP) capacitors for AC filter applications. The capacitors are available in a 4-pin design with 52.5 mm pin spacing, rated at 275 VAC or 350 VAC, with a capacitance range of 10 μF to 40 μF, and a maximum operating temperature of 85 °C. The B32354S* series is designed for use in AC filter applications.
The new AC film capacitors feature compact dimensions, high AC load capacity, and suitable voltage withstand capacity, and can be operated reliably even under harsh operating conditions such as high humidity. They can pass the THB test (Class III Test B) according to IEC 60384-14:2013/AMD1:2016 at 85°C/85%RH/1000H/plus rated voltage.
The new series of capacitors are certified according to IEC 61071 and have a life expectancy of ≥ 100,000 hours with a failure rate as low as 5 FIT. due to the design of the internal safety devices, the new series of capacitors meets the highest safety standards (10,000 AFC) and is certified by UL 810 and CE. In addition, the case and potting materials are flame retardant to UL 94 V-0.
Typical applications for the ruggedness of the new series of film capacitors include a variety of demanding filtering applications such as output filtering in motor drives, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and photovoltaic inverters.
