Nexperia Introduces New 600 V Single Tube IGBT for Outstanding Efficiency in Power Applications
Nexperia, a high-capacity specialist in basic semiconductor devices, has announced that it will enter the insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) market with its 600 V device family, and the 30A NGW30T60M3DF will be its first entry into the market.
These devices help increase power density in power conversion and motor drive applications, including industrial motor drives (e.g., 5 to 20 kW (20 kHz) servo motors), robotics, elevators, machine manipulators, industrial automation, power inverters, uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs), photovoltaic (PV) cascade assemblies, EV charging, and induction heating and welding.
IGBTs are a relatively mature technology. Nonetheless, the market for these devices is expected to grow with the increasing popularity of solar panels and electric vehicle (EV) chargers. Nexperia's 600 V IGBTs utilize a robust, cost-effective carrier-storage trench gate- field cutoff (FS) structure that provides ultra-low conduction and switching loss performance with high durability at operating temperatures up to 175°C. These IGBTs are available in a lead-free TO247-3L standard package and pass the stringent HV-H3TRB quality standard for outdoor applications.Nexperia plans to follow this product release with a 1200 V IGBT family of devices.
