Flusso Introduces Four Gas Flow Sensor Modules
Flusso has announced a series of "plug and play" gas flow sensor electronic modules to help organizations more easily and quickly integrate flow and temperature measurement capabilities into their new product designs.
The four new modules are based on two of Flusso's existing gas flow sensor product families: the FLS122 (one of the world's smallest air flow rate sensors, measuring 3.5mm x 3.5mm), introduced last year, and the FLS11X family of gas flow and differential pressure (DP) sensors. Both sensor families use a unique configuration of four temperature sensing elements on a CMOS MEMS chip to provide accurate real-time flow and temperature measurements
The new module provides digital outputs via I2C to facilitate system integration and communication in new or existing product designs.
Andrea De Luca, CEO of Flusso, said:
"Flusso is launching its new gas flow sensor electronics module to help companies reduce development time and costs when adding flow measurement functionality to their products. This means they can focus on finding the best place to integrate flow and temperature measurement functionality because the sensor electronics module has already been processed and fully optimized."
Flusso's new module is particularly suitable for product companies bringing innovative technologies or new functions to market, as they can quickly develop prototypes for initial customer trials and scale up to volume production. If needed, the company's engineering team can easily modify its design by replacing the module with one of Flusso's low-cost sensors.
Target markets for this module include new medical devices, building automation and industrial applications. The new Flusso modules can also be used as a direct replacement for more expensive competitive equipment to help manufacturers reduce production costs for their existing products.
The two FSE-112 modules can provide fully temperature-compensated mass flow, volumetric flow or differential pressure measurements in conjunction with real-time temperature readings. One module has a PCB size of 22mm x 16mm and the other is 22mm x 24mm.
The FSE-122 module can be used for in situ airspeed measurements on smaller flow paths or larger pipes, depending on the application requirements. The module is available in two different forms: a reduced size module for smaller runners and a two-part extension module with an adapter board for larger pipes.
