SCALE-iFlex LT NTC Series IGBT/SiC Module Gate Drivers from PI

2023-08-02 15:19:52

PI's new SCALE-iFlex LT NTC series of IGBT/SiC module gate drivers provide negative temperature coefficient (NTC) data to enable precise temperature rise management of converter systems and to ensure equalization accuracy. By supporting multiple power modules in parallel, the overall system reliability of renewable energy and rail transportation systems can be greatly improved.

The new plug-and-play driver boards optimize commercially available mainstream dual-channel 100mmx140mm IGBT modules such as the Mitsubishi™ LV100 and Infineon™ XHP 2, as well as Silicon Carbide (SiC)-derived modules with withstand voltages up to 2300V. They are able to handle modules in parallel in a very specialized way, allowing one of the five modules to be omitted without loss of performance.

Each 2SMLT0220D Module Adaptable Gate Driver (MAG) fits neatly within the contour of the power module. Up to four MAG-driven power modules can be connected in parallel with a single 2SILT1200T Insulated Master Control (IMC) unit. These gate drivers are fully compliant with IEC 61000-4-x (EMI), IEC-60068-2-x (environmental) and IEC-60068-2-x (mechanical) standards, reducing development time by 12 to 18 months.
